October: The month of Kimono

October is filled with so many events and the first one coming up is New York Comic Con and Anime Fest x NYCC are the first events of the month. If you want to cosplay in a kimono these are great events to do it at. You can experiment with so many different ways of styling it and have fun at the same time.

We have a amazing selection of kimonos, and accessories ranging from bright, fun, colorful, to edgy, cool, dark themes. Kimonos in all sizes and budgets are available so you can be sure to find something that works for you. Remember we not limited to just kimonos, we also carry samues and jinbeis, giving you a number of options on how to wear.

For those with children, remember that this year Shichigosan is on October 20 and October 21 at the Japan Society. If you are planning on participating in this wonderful event please contact us for children's kimono rental and dressing services. It is very important that you confirm the time and date that your child will be attending the ceremony so that we can secure the kimono of your choice.

And how could we all forget that October also has Halloween! If you wanna get a head start on prepping that Halloween costume please be sure to stop by as soon as possible. You wanna get to the kimono you need before someone beats you to the punch.

We have everything you would need, shoes, socks, accessories, wigs, even white face make up, the kind that real kabuki actors use. Depending on the look that you are going for we can provide a dressing, hair, and make-up service depending on scheduling. If you need to be dressed for a Halloween party or night of Halloween we strongly encourage that you contact us as soon as possible to ensure that there is a spot available.

We hope that we can all enjoy the fall season and continue to provide you with all your kimono needs.

Every year, Kimono House helps prepare people of all ages for the flower viewing ( hanami ) season. If you walk around parks in Japan during the hanami  season, you can find people enjoying the blossoms from underneath and around the trees at all times of day with bento lunches and drinks (even beer and sake). It's a great example of enjoying life's fleeting moments of beauty.
