In Japan the ceremony known as "Shichigosan," celebrates three special years in a child's life. "Shichi" meaning 7, "go" meaning 5, and "san" meaning 3, are the hallmark years of childhood. In Japan, Shichigosan is normally celebrated in November. The Japan Society will be hosting ceremonies for the event October 19th and 20th.
