Brooklyn Botanical Gardens is holding the annual cherry Blossum Festival. Sakura Matsuri on April 27th and April 28th this year.

It's a fun and interesting two day festival that celebrates Japanese culture and is held within the Botanic gardens.  There are plenty of lovely Cherry Trees that make this a perfect place to be during this Spring matsuri or festival.


There are many performances, workshops, music, ceremonies and just walking around enjoying the day.

The best way to enjoy the festival is in a Yukata or cotton kimono. This is an authentic Japanese garment that will make your day a special one to remember.

Spring Flower Viewing (Hanami)

The days are becoming warmer and sunsets later - spring time is almost here, and that means that so is the hanami season! Every year, Kimono House helps prepare people of all ages for the flower viewing ( hanami ) season. If you walk around parks in Japan during the hanami  season, you can find people enjoying the blossoms from underneath and around the trees at all times of day with bento lunches and drinks (even beer and sake). It's a great example of enjoying life's fleeting moments of beauty.
